The USA has donated another 200,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the COVAX Facility.

The US Mission in the Maldives issued a press statement today stating that another 210,600 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is being delivery to stay steadfast with the Maldivian recovery efforts.

The Charge d'Affaires at the US Mission to the Maldives, Martin T. Kelly said that the efforts against COVID-19 has to continue as the third year of the pandemic rolls in. And that they are working with 120 countries including the Maldives to provide vaccines and help reduce the social and economic impact.

USA has been helping the Maldives in various avenues since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

And so, 440,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and USD seven million worth of emergency supplies have been proceed. They have also prepared the training of 796 doctors and nurses at 60 facilities along with the donation of 60 ventilators and 100,000 rapid diagnostic kits
