Another 2,220 people have recovered in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 110,852.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,220 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 110,852 another 16,950 people still in treatment including 54 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 2,499 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 697 from the atolls and 56 from the resorts.

There have been 274 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 258 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
