The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 120,168 after another 2,707 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,420 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 761 from the atolls and 94 from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 1,622 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 104,164 with another 15,721 people still in treatment including 52 people in hospitals.
There have been 270 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 254 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
