Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 2,349 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, raising the total number of cases to 114,977.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,325 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 681 from the atolls and 54 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 849 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 101,660 with another 13,035 people still in treatment including 48 people in hospitals.

There have been 269 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 251 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
