Dhaandhoo Harbor Expansion and Kamadhoo Harbor Repair projects contracted to MTCC

The expansion of the Gaafu Alifu Atoll Dhaandhoo harbor and the repairs at the Baa Atoll Kamadhoo has been contracted or the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

At a special ceremony held at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure today to sign the agreements, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed signed the agreement on behalf of the government. And the CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC.

The two projects together are worth MVR 117 million.

And so, the Dhaandhoo harbor expansion was contracted for MVR 70.8 million to be completed within 485 days. The project entails 81,404 cubic meters of dredging, 333 meters of outer sea wall, 370 meters of revetment, 30 meters of groins, 529 meters of outer sea wall, 104 mooring rings, ten mooring buoys and 71 square meters of pavement along with the installation of harbor lights and port lights.

The Kamadhoo harbor repairs are contracted for MVR 47 million to be completed within 400 days. The project entails 25,636 cubic meters of dredging, 180 meters of outer sea wall, 628 meters of revetment, 346 meters of outer sea wall, 70 moorings, ten mooring buoys and 1,730 square meters of pavement along with the installation of port and harbor lights.
