Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has said that the special needs tourists are an important market that the Maldives need to target.
Speaking on Raajje TV's 'Falasurukhee" program last night, Dr. Mausoom said that the Maldives is an expensive destination celebrating 50 years of tourism that needs to introduce more models of tourism.
He said that there are many people that require special needs across the world that can be brought in to let them experience the Maldives. And soon so would not only greatly benefit the Maldivian economy.
Dr. Mausoom said that expanding the cultural and environmental tourism is also very important as many tourists want to experience the local cultures of the destinations they travel to.
The Minister further said that when the new models of tourism combines with the Maldivian hospitality, others cannot complete on the same level.
