The second term of the academic year has begun nationwide today after a break or 21 days.

As the schools reopen for second term, the COVID-19 situation in the country has gotten worse with daily cases close to 1,000.

Due to the COVID situation, the Ministry of Education said that students below Grade 8 have to attend school two days a week and spend less time in school as well.

A hot topic before the school break was that of the Arabiyyaa School and the concern from the parents due to the cracks in the old building. Following the concerns, the Education Ministry has arranged those students to attend school at another location.

And so, the MTCC building where the Foreign Ministry was temporarily housed, has been prepared for the students of Arabiyyaa School.

The Ministry has also ordered the schools to strengthen the safety measures against COVID-19 with distancing and mask regulations along with temperature checks.
