Another 1,958 people have recovered in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 97,217.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,958 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 97,217 another 4,877 people still in treatment including 23 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 514 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 326 from the atolls and 36 from the resorts.

There have been 265 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 248 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
