The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 100,451 after another 816 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 413 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 249 from the atolls and 92 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 354 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 95,056 with another 5,118 people still in treatment including 25 people in hospitals.

There have been 264 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 247 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
