90 percent of students have completed two doses of COVID vaccine

Education Ministry has said that 90 percent of the students in the country has completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

While over 368,000 people of the Maldivian population have been vaccinated with a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, vaccinations for children between the ages of 12 and 17 began in August 2021.

Statistics shared with ONE Online by the Education Ministry show 36,029 students have received the first dose which is 97 percent of the students to be vaccinated. And 32,358 students have received two doses of the vaccine.

While 90 percent of students from 218 schools nationwide, 11,225 students from 22 schools from Male' have been vaccinated with another 21,133 from 196 schools in the atolls.
