The total number of COVID-19 related to the Maldives has risen to 262 after another person has passed away.
ONE Online has learned that the deceased is a 79-year-old local man who was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) 3:12 a.m. after being found motionless. Sources say that the man was dead on arrival and a sample from him has tested positive for COVID-19.
The most recent death today raises the tally to 247 locals and 17 foreigners. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.
The first COVID-related reported in the country was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old local woman.
