State Electric Company (STELCO) has said that the ongoing electricity distribution network upgrade work in Alifu Alifu Atoll Ukulhas will be completed this January.
The company said that 2,084 meters of cables have been installed in the ground in total and the island can begin enjoying the ease of the upgraded network around the middle of the month.
STELCO has previously said that with consideration to the future of the island as an important development partner, they have decided to build a four megawatt powerhouse to replace the 812 kilowatt powerhouse currently providing electricity to the residential homes.
The new modern powerhouse will become a beautiful landmark that would change the perspective on power stations.
