The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 96,522 after another 228 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 66 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 60 from the atolls and 97 from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 134 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 93,544 with another 2,702 people still in treatment including 18 people in hospitals.
There have been 263 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 246 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
