While unsuccessful candidates from party Primaries are barred from running further in the Parliamentary election, a case had been filed at the Supreme Court in an attempt to overturn the law.

A preliminary hearing of the case has been scheduled for tomorrow.

The case was proposed to Supreme Court by envoy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and popular businessman, Abdulla Jabir as well as Abdul Maaniu Hussain.

Ahmed Mohamed had filed a similar case at Supreme Court and both preliminary hearings have been scheduled for the same time. For now it appears that the Supreme Court will view both cases as one.

The case will be addressed by  the full bench of Supreme Court including Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla, Justice Uz. Abdullah Areef, Justice Uz. Adam Mohamed Abdulla, Justice Uz. Abdulla Didi and Justice Uz. Abdul Ghanee Mohamed.

The preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10:15 am tomorrow morning.
