The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 95,700 after another 160 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 38 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 71 from the atolls and 51 from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 85 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 93,127 with another 2,298 people still in treatment including 18 people in hospitals.
There have been 262 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 245 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
