An agreement has been signed with AMIN Construction to complete the remaining works of the flats being developed in Hulhumale' especially for those in the Maldives Police Service.
At a special ceremony held at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, the agree was signed on behalf of the Ministry by the Director General, Fathimath Shaanaa Farooq while AMIN Construction was represented by the Director of the company, Mohamed Irfan.
The Ministry said that the work contracted to be completed is the fishing work of the flats at Phase 1 one Hulhumale'.
The Police flats consists of 361 units of 1,100 square feet at three towers. The project is contracted to AMIN Construction for MVR 274.6 million to be completed in 240 days.
The project was initially contracted to Noomadi Resorts and Residences during the Presidency of Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan. However, the government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom terminated the contract with Noomadi.
The project was then given to Island Experts but the work came to a halt last year due to lack of employees in the workforce.
With the project having taken over eight years, many in the Police Service has raised concerns regarding the housing project.
