A contract has been signed to develop a tourist hotel in Noonu Atoll Manadhoo.
Bids were opened twice this year to develop a hotel at the 132,000 square feet land allocated for tourism in Manadhoo. The initial bid process in February this year did not receive much support and so it was opened again in March.
Ministry of Tourism has contracted the project to Stone Hotels Maldives PLC. The agreement for the project was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Tourism Ministry, Fathimath Nilfaa and the Director of Stone Hotels Maldives, Abbas Mohamed.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Abdulla Mausoom and the MP for Manadhoo constituency, Ahmed Haaroon.
Tourism Ministry said that the hotel is required to have at least 50 rooms and is expected to be opened before July 2024.
