Maldives Police Service has seized 119 kilograms of illegal drugs in 48 hours during a special operation.
This is related to the case of the taxi carrying drugs stopped and searched in Male' City on Sunday night.
Taking to Twitter this morning, the Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed announced the success of the operation saying that police had successfully recovered additional 91 packets of suspected to be heroin.
"Our teams have successfully recovered additional 91 packets of narcotic drugs that are suspected to be heroin after really good policing work during the last 48 hours. This makes it a total of 119 packets with the 28 packets seized on Sunday night. Estimated weight is 119 kgs." The Commissioner's Tweet said.
ONE Online has learned that the drugs were found inside the trunk of a car parked in Hulhumale'. And a special operation is currently ongoing regarding the case.
