Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has introduced their smart city brand, SmartCom.

At a special ceremony held last night at Hotel Jen, the brand was inaugurated by the Minister of Economic Development, Fayyaz Ismail.

The ceremony was attended by the senior officials of government ministries, HDC and the open access network partners of SmartCom, Dhiraagu, Ooredoo and Medianet.

HDC said that it a future vision for SmartCom to digitally connect the communities of Hulhumale' and create smart solutions through various partnerships.

SmartCom aims to facilitate smart solutions affecting health, education, transport and security along with economy and the job market benefiting both the people of the city and the government.

HDC said that various efforts are currently in progress to make Hulhumale' the first Smart City in the country. And so, a large portion of developing the digital infrastructure with the open access network has been completed.
