218 tested positive today, 20 from Male'

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 93,064 after another 218 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 20 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 188 from the atolls and 10 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 85 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 90,861 with another 1,933 people still in treatment.

There have been 257 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 240 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
