Another Covid death in Addu City has brought the national total number of deaths to 257.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that last night at 03:00 am a 83-year-old Maldivian male admitted in Addu Covid Management Facility had passed away
This marks the 257th COVID-19 death in the Maldives, which includes 240 Maldivians and 17 foreign nationals.
Addu City also includes the most number of deaths apart from Male' City. With the death today, total deaths in Addu City has now risen to 13.
The highest number of COVID deaths were reported in the country in May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported on the 25th alone.
The first COVID-related death was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
