President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has left for Gaafaru Island in the Kaafu Atoll to join official celebrations held there to mark the 41st National Fishermen's Day.

During the visit, President Solih is set to inaugurate the newly developed ice plant on the island and tour the Fisheries Expo organised by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture before attending the official event held to mark the 41st National Fishermen's Day.

Vice President Faisal Naseem would join him on Gaafaru Island for the activities and unveil a monument built on the island.

The President and Vice President would also visit the police post on the island and hold discussions with the members of the Gaafaru Island Council and Women’s Development Committee.

The President would be concluding his visit on 11 December, Saturday.
