Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has advised the court judges to be just and free of outside influences.

Speaking at a function at the PPM office last night, the former President said that many are influencing judges and the judicial system is still handicapped.

Accusing the state and bussiness owners of meddling with the courts, Yameen said that the country cannot excel without stopping the influence to the court houses.

He said that judges should not be afraid to lose their jobs and must be courageous enough to say no to anyone.

Former President Yameen said that judges have a higher responsibility than the general public and advised them to be free of any influence and prioritize justice.

Yameen further said that fear of losing jobs is not a ticket for judges to violate the rights of many and must abide by the oaths they took.
