The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 90,266 after 149 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 18 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 111 from the atolls and 20 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 152 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 87,855 with another 2,150 people still in treatment.

There have been 248 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 231 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
