Another 257 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 257 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 86,559 with another 2,000 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 24 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 124 from the atolls and 34 from the resorts raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 88,817.

There have been 245 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 227 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
