Another 78 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 78 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 85,531 with another 1,700 people still in treatment.
In the same time frame, 35 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 66 from the atolls and 27 from the resorts. And so the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 87,487.
There has been 243 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 226 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
