A second COVID-19 related death has been reported from Addu City today.

While ONE Online has confirmed the death in Addu City, the deceased is unclear at this time. The first COVID-related death from Addu City today was that of an 86-year-old local man who passed away at 12:10 a.m. while being treated at the treatment facility.

With the most recent death, that total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has reached 242 that consists of 225 locals and 17 foreigners.

The highest number of COVID deaths were reported in the country in May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported on the 25th alone.

The first COVID-related death was reported on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
