President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the MPs of the main party of the government coalition, MDP to discuss the state budget for 2022.

Spokesperson of the President's Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has confirmed that the meeting took place.

He said that the meeting held last night saw discussions on the projects proposed by the MPs for their respective constituencies.

Mabrook said that other lines of discussions included that of the Public Sector Investment Project (PSIP) and fulfilling campaign pledges of the government.

Ministry of Finance and Treasury said that an annual budget of MVR 37 billion will be presented to the Parliament.
