President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed on a trip to six islands of Alifu Alifu Atoll this morning.
The President is set to travel to Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Ukhulhas, Mathiveri, Bodufolhudhoo and Himandhoo during this two-day trip.
The President's Office said that President Solih is scheduled to hold discussions with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee of each island and meet with important stakeholders from the communities including business owners, farmers, guesthouse proprietors and the residents of the islands.
As part of this trip, President Solih will visit and tour important landmarks and government developmental sites to check on the progress of the projects. Additionally, he is set to inaugurate the new multi-purpose hall and 12 new classrooms at the Thoddoo School. At Bodufolhudhoo, the President will officially open the new mosque, and at Himandhoo, he is scheduled to inaugurate the harbour.
President Solih is accompanied on this trip by a delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials from the government.
