Two of the ten people arrested in connection with the drug case where a multi-department Police operation seized over 100 kgs of drugs.

Police arrested a 19-year-old, two 24-year-olds, a 25-year-old, a 26-year-old, a 30-year-old, 34-year-old, a 36-year-old and a 61-year-old in connection to the case including both local and foreign men.

Maldives Police Service said that areas in Male' and Hulhumale' was searched as part of the special operation.

The 100 kgs of drugs were found hidden on an uninhabited island.

At the remand hearing for the ten people that were arrested, Criminal Court remanded four people with 15 days, three people by ten days and one person was remanded with five days while the remaining two were released.

Police said that their release is being appealed through the Prosecutor General's Office.
