The body of the 55-year-old Mahmood Abubakuru, who was killed and dumped inside a well in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Dhangethi, has been brought to the capital, Male' City for further testing.
He was found yesterday afternoon inside a well at an abandoned house during a search launched yesterday after he was last seen leaving the house after watching the football match on the night of 13 October 2021.
A person present when the body was recovered told ONE Online that there was heavy bleeding from the head when the body was taken out of the well.
Maldives Police Service today said that the body has been brought to Male' for further tests and no arrests have been made so far regarding the case.
While the general public of the island has handed over two people the public has accused of the crime, one of them is a person from Thoddoo and the other has ties to Thoddoo and Dhangethi.
Police said that a special team from the Serious and Organised Crime Department is handling the investigation to bring those involved in this inhumane crime to justice.
