A murder victim killed and dumped inside the well of an abandoned house has been found in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Dhangethi.

President of the Dhangethi Island Council, Muaviyath Rasheed told ONE Online that the deceased is a 55-year-old businessman on the island named Mahmood Abubakuru.

The Council President said that a search was started today after no one had heard from him since he left home last night. And the body was found this afternoon inside a water well at an abandoned house with his feet bound and sacks on the feet and head.

"(No one had) heard from him since he left the house after watching the (football) match last. When found by the efforts of MNDF, Police and the people of the island, he was upside down. Sure he was killed." Muaviyath said.

While the Police has closed off the scene, officers of the Forensic department are present as well.
