Ministry of Health has launched a parallel investigation in to the sudden death of a six-year-old that was taken to the Fuvahmulah City Hospital.
Media Officer of the Health Ministry told ONE Online today that documentation of the case and other information are currently being gathered for the investigation along with getting in contact with those close to the incident.
Manager of the Fuvahmulah Hospital, Mohamed Liraaru spoke with ONE Online yesterday stating that the child was taken to the hospital yesterday due to nausea and stomach pain and passed away at 7 p.m. while undergoing treatment.
He said that the child was given CPR and, treated under the advisement of doctors from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The family of the deceased child has alleged negligence from the hospital and so the hospital is conducting an investigation as well. Fuvahmulah Hospital said that they would be taking action based on the findings.
