Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has presented certificate to the participants of their annual internship program.

HDC said that a graduation ceremony was held for those in the fourth annual internship program aimed to develop a local workforce. Minister of Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan was the chief guest at th graduation ceremony.

This year, 55 participants completed the internship program this year with 30 current employees at HDC was given the opportunity to participate, according to HDC.

While graduates receive a level 3 certificate accepted by the Maldives Qualification Authority, participants were trained in six categories this year. The four-month program trained participants in heavy vehicles, welding, machinery, gardening and electrical construction.

HDC said that the company will be providing numerous opportunities to develop a youth workforce on various sectors through the program and the top graduates will be offered employment with them as positions open up.
