Maldives Meteorological Service on Tuesday said that the current rainy weather will improve starting next Friday.

Currently, the Maldives is experiencing torrential rains during the "Hulhangu" monsoon. Even though the clouds opened up to sunny skies in the capital city yesterday, most of the country was still seeing rain showers throughout the day.

An official at the MET Office revealed to One Media today that the weather will generally improve starting next Friday, even though some parts of the country may still experience rain showers.

The official also added that even though seas may be moderately rough, wind speeds are expected to slow down which will lower the risk of tidal swells in the islands.

The recent bad weather had also increased the number of tragic accidents. As such, seven people were left stranded at sea after a safari boat sank last week, which also witnessed the death of one of the passengers.
