President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the option to acquire a tuition-free first degree in Maldives is to be established by end of this month.

President Solih said this during his presidential address on the occasion of the first sitting of Parliament, 2019 taking place at Dharubaaruge.

Establishing tuition free higher education option in Maldives for those seeking this education was a campaign pledge of President Solih.

President Solih said that the most significant effort to pave the way for the progress of this nation is to establish an education youth.

The President reiterated that that the biggest portion of the budget has been allocated for the education sector in an effort to hasten the progress of this nation. He added that the amount allocated is MVR 3.4 Billion.
