Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has suspended Nahula Ali, the representative of the Vilimale’ in Male’ City Council, from party activities for a period of six months

PPM spokesperson Heena Waleed confirmed the decision to "One" and noted that she has been suspended following a probe into a case that was submitted to the Disciplinary Committee of PPM. However, she did not reveal any further details of said case.

Heena further said that the councilwoman was found to be in violation of party policies. With the suspension, Nahula will not be able to speak at any PPM event for six months nor contest in any internal elections for the next three years,

Nahula has appealed the decision after being provided the opportunity.

She had also contested for the Parliamentary Elections in 2014 and 2019.
