162 people recovered from COVID-19, total recoveries to 82,101

Another 162 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 162 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 82,101 with another 1,674 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 42 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 88 from the atolls and 12 from the resorts. And so the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 83,875.

There has been 229 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 213 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
