The President's Office has said that the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will be starting at 6 p.m. local time and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is in third to make his address.
President Solih will be making his address in the Maldivian language, Dhivehi, while the Chair of Session will be the President of the 76th UNGA Abdulla Shahid, the Maldivian Foreign Minister.
Spokesperson of the President's Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said that the UNGA will be opened by the President of the UNGA, Abdulla Shahid making his address. Which will be followed by the US President making his address and then the Maldivian President.
According to the UNGA regulations, the third person to address the opening UNGA will be the representative from the same country of the elected President for the term.
