Another 140 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 140 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 81,544 with another 1,708 people still in treatment.
In the same time frame, 49 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 106 from the atolls and 06 from the resorts. And so the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 83,248.
There has been 229 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 213 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
