The total number of COVID-19 related to the Maldives has risen to 229 after another person has passed away.

One Online has learned that the deceased is an 87-year-old man from Haa Dhaalu Atoll Nolhivaram being treated at the Hulhumale' Facility.

Yesterday also saw COVID-related death in the country where an 89-year-old man that was treated a Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo COVID treatment facility and marked the fourth COVID-death in the island.

The most recent death today raises the tally to 212 locals and 17 foreigners. The highest reported COVID deaths on a single day in the Maldives has been on 25 May 2021 where 13 deaths were reported.

The counter reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020 while the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths on a single day was reported on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.
