A fuel carrying ship has crashed on the reef of Vilimale'.

Media Officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that a fuel vessel named "Transport Fuel - 09" crashed on the reef at 9:35 a.m. after the anchor slipped.

There were three people on board at the time of the incident, a Sri Lankan national and two Bangladeshi national. The vessel has been rescued with the helpmof another tugboat.

Male' City area has been hot by severe weather this morning to the point where land transportation has been affected by strong winds.
