171 people recovered from COVID-19, total recoveries to 80,545

Another 171 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 171 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 80,545 with another 2,037 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 51 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 72 from the atolls and 15 from the resorts. And so the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 82,822.

There has been 227 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 211 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
