Bomb threat made on a column of Noor Mosque

A bomb threat has been made in writing non a column at Majid an-Noor threating to destroy the Maldives.

Images of the writing are currently circulating on social media.

The writing says that the strongest in the country are "Bangalhin" (generalized slang for expats) and they are going to show their power buy detonating a bomb soon and destroying the Maldivian nation.

When ONE asked the media official of the Maldives Police Service about the inflammatory writing, the official said that the necessary inquiries regarding the threat are being made and no further information can be offered at this time.

There has been a recent surge of such inciting threats on the city and 6 May of this year saw an assassination attempt with an improvised explosive device (IED) against the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed.
