Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the dredging operations for the new harbor basin at Shaviyani Atoll Feydhoo is close to completion.

Taking to Twitter today, MTCC said that the first shipment of rock boulders required for the breakwater construction at the Feydhoo harbor were delivered to the project site on 4 September 2021. And 97 percent of the harbor basin dredging operations have been completed as well.

Shaviyani Atoll Feydhoo Harbor Development Project entails a harbor of 27,500 cubic meters, 378 meters of outer sea wall, 90 meters of revetment, 276 meters of inner sea wall, 1,380 square meters of pavement along with the installation of port lights and street lights.

The project was contracted to MTCC on 29 December 2019 for MVR 33.1 million.
