Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has said that the unknown object sent to the Ministry of Tourism at Velana Building, is not a threat.

A report was.made to the MNDF after an unknown object was sent to the Tourism Ministry at Velana Building today and the Bomb Squad was mobilized to the building.

MNDF has advised offices not to accept unknown packages and objects. Sources say that the unknown object set to the Tourism Ministry was heavily packed.

Following the report of the suspicious object, Velana Building, which contains a numerous government offices was evacuated. However, no official authority has confirmed what the object in question actually is.
