A Maldivian national in Sri Lanka has passed away due to COVID-19.

Both the Foreign Ministry and the Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka has confirmed the death to One Online.

Maldivian Foreign Ministry said that a Maldivian national has passed away in Sri Lanka due to complications with COVID-19 and so they are providing assistance to the family. No further details were offered by the Ministry.

One Online has learned that the deceased is an elderly that was being treated for COVID-19 at Nawaloka Hospital.
