Ministry of Education has said that over 30,000 students have been vaccinated as part of the large scale COVID-19 vaccination program for students in Maldives.

The Ministry said that as part of the program vaccinating children between 12 and 17 years of age, 30,109 students from 181 schools have been vaccinated.

COVID-19 vaccination for that age bracket in the Maldives began last Sunday. The children in the age is being given the Pfizer vaccine.

Am official from the Education Ministry has previously said that there are about 35,000 students in the country that are eligible for COVID vaccination and the aim is to get them the first dose of the vaccine

by the end of this month.
