151 tested positive today, 42 from Male'

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 80,218 after 151 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 42 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 98 from the atolls and 04 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 105 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 78,294 with another 1,687 people still in treatment.

There has been 225 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 208 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
