95 tested positive today, 26 from Male'

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 79,959 after 95 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 26 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 56 from the atolls and 13 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 123 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 78,076 with another 1,648 people still in treatment.

There has been 223 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 206 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
